Your Questions & Hall's Answers
Q "I’m a total beginner when it comes to making gemshorns and just started making one. Everything was fine when I was making the wind way and the window of the instrument, as I was able to get a decent tone. However, when I started making the sound holes, things started to go wrong.
I started tuning the sound holes one by one from lowest to highest and things started off fine with the first couple holes. But as I got to the higher holes, the sound got thinner and weaker till eventually, there was no sound at all.
So I currently have an instrument with basically three functioning sound holes. I want to ask for some advice of what I did wrong."
